Location Report & Casting Notes

Location Report

Location:

The location will be in a flat that is located in the rough side of the Town due to the nature of our storyline, because they are not wealthy, one is a college student and the other is a minor drug dealer, therefore the location must be lower class. The room will be rather small because again we are trying to show that they are lower class.

 Timing:

The Film will be shot during the daytime, around three o’clock because the opening is about a flat mate being attacked by professional hitmen so the daytime will show that they are not afraid of being caught and the audience does not expect anything to happen in the daytime. The timing could have been done at anytime but we thought that this was the most effective time for the audience.

Lighting:

The Lighting will be natural lighting rather than studio lighting, because we are trying to get the UK gangster film effect and because it is filmed in daylight. Another reason we used natural lighting is because we wanted to make it realistic rather than make it look like a Hollywood film.

We have purposely made all the location, timing and lighting like this to get the full effect of the film and too make it as clear as we can for the audience.

This Location Report was done by Dennis Wahome.

Casting Notes

The cast in the opening will include:

Shazaib Hussain as Danny

Dennis Wahome as Craig

Mark Hornsey as Hitman 1

Carlvin Kihura as Hitman 2

Shazaib Hussain as Danny

Danny will be wearing baggy jeans and a t-shirt because he is supposed to be a stereo typical rogue working individual with a criminal background. The way Danny walks will also show that he is a person that is trying hard to be intimidating or is a wannabe gangster. Danny will use street language obviously because he is a stereotype.

Dennis Wahome as Craig

Craig will be wearing smart casual clothing; a shirt and jeans, because he is supposed to be a well dressed college student. Craig will use proper English because he is well educated and to show that he does not get into trouble.

The difference in clothing styles between the two characters are in place to symbolize the contrasts between social representation which follow as Danny  the shady stereo typical character that dwells in crime and  a doggy  lifestyle.

Mark Hornsey and Carlvin Kihura as the Hitmen

The Hitmen are also dressed smart casual which is not the stereotypical hitman; this is because we did to make them too noticeable but still intimidating, so they will be wearing a smart shirt and jeans. Also their posture will show that they are upper class. The hitmen will be quite large and calm because they will be professional hitmen and so the audience will expect the major boss to be professional, unlike Danny the hitmen will look intimidating even with the calmness.  The Hitmen will also use proper English because they are professional.
